Bio of January Winner Alex Koloskov.
"I have loved photography all my life.
One year ego I decided to start my photo business, although I am still an amateur.
I bought professional lighting and equipped my home based studio.
I have not taken any classes or workshops in photography, but I study the best works of the world’s best photographers.
I like to do a technically complicated job; this is a real challenge for me.
Since I am a programmer, I have created my own web site and portfolio.
Now that I have won in the National Photo Awards Contest, I hope it will help me to grow to a professional advertising photographer. This is my goal and dream.
Currently I own Canon 10D and 5D cameras, a variety of lenses.
To create the winning photo, I was using Novatron Flash (approximately 1/5000 – 1/6000 sec flash duration) and a Sigma 105mm f2.8 macro lens.
Short flash duration allows me to stop action almost instantly, which is very important in shoots with moving objects, like water, etc.
